His love life.
Jun. 29th, 2012 09:23 pm (UTC)
He's like Elizabeth Taylor. Every time he falls in love he REALLY believes it's forever. He's totally in love with the idea of being in love. Thus he's also been genuinely devastated by the divorces even though he cheated on every one of them. (He was totally fucking around on Julie LONG before she ever took a lover.) He THINKS he's having "just sex" and that it shouldn't affect his actual marriages, but if it doesn't, he'll just form another sexual attachment until one does become the next "great love." Bonnie had it right about needing to rescue, but he also needs to believe in the grand love affair as well. That's why things are so messed up with House. They have the sex, but House won't LET him have the emotional connection (or at least admit it) so he has to keep looking...which hurts House, even if he doesn't want to admit it.

Nine, grief
Jun. 8th, 2012 03:51 am (UTC)
After the Time War, nine's grief so over-whelming that it actually starting affecting The TARDIS. She started looking for places to send the Doctor where he would have to inter-act with people and hopefully pick up a new companion. When she realized that the Autons were moving in on earth again, she made sure the Doctor was aware of it, although his first impulse was to ignore it, feeling like he didn't have the emotional energy to save the humans again.

She found ways to keep pushing him until he went, so she was thrilled when he showed up with Rose. (So yes, the TARDIS, ships Nine/Rose.)

Angela Petrelli - manipulation
Jun. 9th, 2012 08:00 pm (UTC)
Angela's greatest power isn't her dreaming or her ability to affect other people's dreams. It's her ability to manipulate men (and women) if necessary through sex. She's always counted on that to get what she wants. She coldly screwed her way through the entire group of 12 to get exactly what she wanted from each one, getting rid of them when they became inconvenient, and continued the pattern with both of her sons. She had every intention of doing the same thing with Claire and still would if she got a chance, and would have slept with Sylar, especially when she was playing the "you're a Petrelli" game with him, just to convince him of the fact, since that's what Petrelli's do to and with each other.

Spooks, Tessa, true love.

Jun. 9th, 2012 10:30 pm (UTC)
Tessa is an even colder hearted bitch than Jools is a bastard. Jools is sincere about protecting Queen and Country, Tessa cares about herself, which to her is making sure there is always a
nest egg and a escape hatch, which is something her mother didn't have when her handsome, philanderer of a father fell for a local school-teacher and ended up leaving mummy high and dry.

Tessa got into Uni on her own smarts and was recruited right out of Cambridge. She's one of the best operatives MI5 ever had because she can fake emotion brilliantly, which puts her one up on Jools, but he's too savvy to her true nature. (Hence he knew all about her "ghost agents.)

When it comes down to it, she will betray everyone and everything to protect her own interests. (Dick Maynard almost got to her, but she still landed on her feet.)

Wait, I forgot you were also doing Justified: Boyd, "God hates me."

Jun. 8th, 2012 06:27 am (UTC)
I need to hold off on that one because we've only just finished the first season. So I don't want to make my head-canon, either something that gets Jossed or something that's completely spelled out in the episodes I haven't seen yet.

Gotcha. Goodness knows, they Jossed me!

HRG - betrayal
Jun. 10th, 2012 04:10 pm (UTC)
Noah/Claude definitely happened. Noah managed to convince himself that he wasn't really cheating on Sandra, both because it wasn't "real" with a man and because Claude would use his ability while the act was going on.

However, when Claude turned on the Company, Noah was the one who felt that he was betrayed and he's never forgiven Claude for that. He would have killed him on the bridge out of his own hurt, not because the Company told him to.

After that, he tried to put all his feelings into his family. He loved Sandra, but he never felt the kind of passion that he did for Claude. Instead the pain of betrayal and the need to protect Claire got mixed up into his overwhelming and somewhat inappropriate feelings for Claire.

I love this so much and it can easily be my head canon too. I love how you manage to add Noah/Claire to the mix. :D

Jack Harkness, love.
Jun. 10th, 2012 04:31 pm (UTC)
Although the Doctor is the great love of Jack's life, that love is intrinsically tied into the period he spend as part of a threesome with the Doctor and Rose.

Jack's first love back on his home planet was the girl next door AND her brother. After Grey was taken, they all ended up in bed together and ever since then, that has been his ideal relationship. He always wants to be a threesome, preferably with an existing couple.

He had that with the married executioners, the twin acrobats and with Rose and the Doctor. (Also possibly with Owen and Suzie before Suzie went bat-shit.) When he was with John, he always had John out trying to score a third party so he could recreate that feeling.

Although he is passionately attracted to Gwen (who for the time being he can't have) and pretty much bored out of his kugel with Ianto (who he's had three ways from sundown) he would still very much like to have both of them in his preferred type of relationship. The body language in both Exit Wounds and Journey's End shows this explicitly. He always reaches for both of them, rather than trying to get a private moment with his so-called "lover."

Gwen, who is more secure and sexually adventurous might go for it, unfortunately Ianto is so incredibly needy and possessive that he can't stand the idea of sharing Jack in bed, anymore than he can accept the fact Jack isn't exclusive with him and is going after soldiers in bars and anything else he can get without provoking a jealous hissy-fit.

When he saw the Tenth Doctor with Martha, he immediately had hopes for a repeat of his Nine/Rose relationship, which is why he commiserated so much when it turned out that the Doctor didn't see Martha that way.

Spock TOS, sex.

One reason that Kirk/Spock IS possible and that Spock seems to react much more deeply to Kirk than you'd expect from a Vulcan is not his "half-human" side in terms of actual genetics, but rather the fact that Sarek and Amanda had a passionately sexual marriage. Pon Farr doesn't mean they only do it once every seven years, but that they only have to do it once. They can do it as much as they want and Sarek and Amanda wanted to. Sarek was a sexually powerful man and either by design or pure chance he was drawn to an equally sexual human woman.

Spock didn't necessarily have a "primal scene" but he was aware that a marriage and by extension any relationship could be both intellectual and physical. Thus when he met James T. Kirk and they connected on an intellectual and emotional level, he was open to the possibility of having a union as sexual as the one he'd grown up around.

Park, twenty years from now.
Jun. 29th, 2012 09:32 pm (UTC)
This is me cheating.

Park doesn't know what the future holds after House dies. All she knows is that there are no good role models. She has no interest in ending up like her mother or grandmother, but as much as she's committed to medicine and wanting to try and do what House did without hurting as many people, she doesn't want to end up having nothing but work.

Now that Chase is running diagnostics, the work place is considerably less abusive, and she could see staying there, but no idea of how long. She also knows the longer she stays, the more likely she'll be only thought of as Chase's side-kick. Maybe even Chase's Wilson. He seems to be getting more comfortable bouncing ideas of her and letting her lead him to the final diagnosis.

Chase is good, but he's not a genius. On the other hand, she's not as vulnerable to the needs of others as Wilson was. Or so she likes to think.

11, replacing
Jun. 29th, 2012 09:26 pm (UTC)
One reason he let Amy go was he realized how much he was using her to replace Donna. Once Amy stopped trying to hit on him, they had a similar "mates" kind of friendship and she was Ginger. He kept wanted to take her to all the places he hadn't gotten to take Donna or take her to the SAME places, even though he knew how much that had pissed off Martha when tried to use her to replace Rose.

Sometimes he suspects he might be using River to replace Jack, but he doesn't like to think about that too much.
