Yes, I'm sure the phrase "lost cause" is already applicable, but god how I loathe the opposing pairing in this bracket. Come on guys, let's go out and make a stand the way Jack and the Doctor would want us to.

Madness, madness. Especially since JGL is one of the least charismtic personalities every to be sold as a major film star.

Thanks sweetie! We may be losing, but at least we're going down honestly unlike some shippers I could mention. (Sam/Dean *cough cough*)

Why, what'd they do?

They got busted using voting bots to try and beat Dean/Castiel.

Wow. Some people have way too much time on their hands.

Well, we of the fannish persuasion shouldn't necessarily be casting those particular stones. It's only when it gets bad enough
to skew the polling that the pots need to start calling out the kettles, which is essentially what happened.

I thought that was legal, that's how Alex Doonesbury went to MIT after all ;). [Of course the MIT guys crafted some nifty, hard-to-pinpoint voting bots - they aren't nerds for nothing.]

Legal it may be, ethical, or just plain nice? Not so much. This is also how certain fanbases managed to skew polls for things like House MD pairings. Also this particular fandom (Supernatural) and that particular Shipping gang have a really bad reputation for skeevy behaviour. Yes, skeevy even by fannish standards.

Voted! (Although I was on the losing side of almost every vote. What else is new?)

I thought the pairing you hate was going to be a different one. So it could have been worse :)

If you're thinking of the so-called canon relationship, then it was hoist by it's own petard as it were, since this is a poll that doesn't construe "canon" couples as slash. That's why no Brian/Justin from QAF.

It's the lack of canon that makes Jack/Doctor such an amazing OTP. Jack will ALWAYS want the Doctor more than anyone and never have him. And we all know Jack wants what he can't have, not what he's had over and over.

Look, this is a poll in which Dean/Castiel are beating Kirk/Spock by a large margin. It's hopeless anyway.

At least Classic Kirk/Spock managed to bee Reboot Kirk/Spock in the first round. And I'm vindictively gleeful that Jack/Doctor did take out Gibbs/Dinozzo in the first round. (Gibbs/Fornell 4-EVA!)

These are people who selected as slash pairing in LotR Aragorn/Legolas. WTF? I may have found it difficult to choose between Legolas/Gimli and Frodo/Sam (or maybe OT4 with the other two hobbits), but Aragorn/Legolas makes no sense at all.

To close on a positive note, any of those is better than Snape/Teletubbies.

I'm not heavily into the LotR fandom either in the books or movies, but my understanding is that movie version has a lot more subtext for Aragorn/Legolas whereas the books provide fodder for Legolas/Gimli. I don't really see it much myself, but some people think that Orlando Bloom is very attractive and even I can ocassionally appreciate Viggo Mortensen so that may impact as well.
