100 TV Shows #59-Mission: Magic!

Mission: Magic!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers watching this show? Saturday morning cartoons on channel 7. (ABC)

Strangely enough I have no memory of the details of the show beyond Rick and his white pants and long 70's hair and the theme song, which I remembered word for word long past the time I've forgotten significantly more important details of my life. I read the Wiki entry and seriously remember NONE of it, except myself on Saturday mornings watching it and the theme song.

When Rick broke through a few years later with General Hospital and Jesse's Girl, I barely even made the connection, but even though most of the world will immediate start humming Jesse's Girl when Rick is mentioned, to me it'll always be, "Do you believe, you believe in magic, yes I believe, I believe it I doooooo."

So this is sort of a place-holder entry to keep the Meme going and a tribute to my young, innocent self of the mid-70's. I'll probably do General Hospital next, which a much longer entry devoted a much less happy and innocent yours truly.

In meantime, those of my age are free to sing along...Here's a download link for you as well..."If your mission is magic your love will shine through!"

I remember this cartoon! The teacher had magic powers which were never explained and her name was Miss Tickle, and those two kids with the weird looking hats were named Socks and Harvey, and Rick Springfield had a fake British accent that was even less convincing than Madonna's. The plots to this cartoon made NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

But Rick's hair and pants were extremely groovy!

I remember this one, extremely well. Because we never actually got General Hospital (until years later when L&L came back), so it was actually my first exposure to Rick in person (so to speak). He was very groovy in cartoon form.

That is, I remember the show's existence, and Rick being groovy, anything else is kinda vague.

It also reminded me of Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kids.
