Because let's face it, a lot of their venom tended to spill over to the lovely and talented Eve Myles.

And look who's got their own series on BBC1?

BBC Website-Frankie

So let's see, that makes Barrowman on Arrow and with a guest shot coming up on Scandal, not to mention his now-you-see-it, now-you-don't appearance in Zero Dark 30, Burn Gorman doing incredibly high profile work like Spies of Warsaw and Game of Thrones and now the LOVELY and TALENTED Eve Myles starring in a series.

SUCK IT, HATERS! Cause I see RTD nowhere in sight...and there she is.

Hooray for Eve Myles, and hooray for Gwen!

I was so excited to hear about this today...just because of the Eve factor.

I'd heard about this a while ago but wasn't sure when it was coming on, but I saw the trailer on BBC tonight for the first time :D Exciting!!

I had no idea! I only saw a GIF on Tumblr today and I was like WTF?
I'm just so happy for Eve. I hope it's a good show, as well, but I'm really glad it's HER.

IKR? Some folks clearly felt very threatened, hence the nearly insane levels of vitriol. I'm really hoping that this show is both good and sucessful.

I know of at least three others, sadly, including the character in my icon, Lana Lang from Smallville, played by Kristin Kreuk.

Though at least we got a similar schadenfreude with her, because Kristin is also the lead of her own show, even if it is a reboot.

I believe there are also some for ladies in fandoms I'm not in, sadly, but these are the only two I know of personally. I've always liked Lana and I'm so looking forward to getting to see Kristin in Beauty & The Beast. Also Sendhil Ramamurthy.

I ADORED Gwen, even while I wish she had gotten together with Jack, not Owen. LOL Of course they lost me as a viewer after Jack's grandson, but I loved the early days of the show and wanted Eve to kiss ass after!

I've got plenty of visions of Gwen and Jack's oh so perfect bum, but she did some massive amounts of arse-kicking in CoE and Miracle Day, whatever else you might think of the story-lines as a whole.

Indeed she did. I was disgusted with Jack and seriously wanted to kick HIS ass.

Eeee! Yay Eve Myles! And yay us getting to see more of her.

I'm very psyched. I would have loved to see her on stage with Zach Braff, but knowing that she's the named lead in her own series is immensely gratifying after all the crap she (and her fans) took.

Don't forget Burn's also on Revenge playing an absolutely delicious magnificent bastard. I'd honestly forgotten how attractive he can be.

I think I may like Arrow for itself, after the first two episodes, though. I definitely don't feel like I'm marking time waiting for JB. Though I did wonder if that was supposed to be him in the car with Moira at the end of episode two.

Also I do like Colin Salmon!

Very happy for Eve as well and I love the picture of her :)

She looks so good in the promo pictures for this. I liked her long hair in Miracle Day, but felt that the cinematography wasn't as good for her (or John for that matter) as it could have been. I think the BBC style really highlights her natural beauty in terms of the freckles, green eyes and the adorable tooth-gap.

I didn't even KNOW Burn was on Revenge....how fabulous is that? Now I might have to catch up on that because Burn as a Magnficent Bastard is OH HELL TO THE YEAH for me.

I haven't really warmed up to anyone on Arrow beyond the gorgeousness of Barrowman. Unfortunately, the main premise and the fact that everyone has to eventually love the self-righteous vigilante is a big problem for me. It was nice to see Colin Salmon, although he'll always be Doctor Moon to me. Great voice.

I like her hair colour here.

I shall check that out (no I haven't watched Miracle Day - or COE - yet, mostly due to time more than avoidance as I do have both DVD sets).

Oh I thought I'd mentioned it! I must be thinking of when I mentioned William Devane being on it, which was sadly only for a few eps but he might turn up again. Burn's AMAZING and honestly the show is really well done. People keep saying S2 isn't as good but in my arrogant opinion I think they're people who are really not familiar with how soaps work storytelling wise (which, given the state of nighttime soaps is probably more the networks' fault than the viewers'). It's very much almost all villains or not very nice people, and the nicer people are usually at least interesting when caught up in the schemes of the not as nice people. Burn though is really amazing. He's only been in two eps so far - and he looks like recurring for the moment as well. Plus I am head over heels for Madeline Stowe and Emily VanCamp as enemies.

This makes me wonder if you're a Batman fan or not, because I think (from osmosis) they're making Ollie more like Bruce than what I know of Oliver from the comics (which isn't admittedly terribly much).

Hooray. That's awesome. Well done for her.

It's worth a happy dance just for all the people it will piss off.
