NO SPOILERS-I may do longer posts about these, but I'm not feeling inspired in that direction at the moment.

1. Thor 2: The Dark World-I hated the first one so much, and was absolutely gob-smacked by the humor and lightness and (oddly enough) humanity in this one. I don't know whether to blame the first one on Kenneth Branagh or the necessity to shove in too much world-building/backstory/redemption into it, JUST to have Thor on the canvas for Avengers, but either way it was a plodding, joyless mess.

2. Day of the Doctor---I was honestly dreading this, because I've lost my faith in Moff to do anything with a modicum of subtlety, but it was all there and so very delightful. It's been a long time since I let out a full-blooded SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, but this earned several, none of which I will detail due to SPOILERS, but I'm sure you can guess what did it.

It's nice to be wrong sometimes...but I'm still right about Arrow, just so you know. (Even if I'm not quite as done with it as I was hoping.)

I'm so glad I watched Doctor Who, so pleased I was part of something that was celebrated at the same time around the planet - and especially as we didn't quite grasp the magnitude of how big it was until afterwards. But the best bits were spectacularly awesome (I'm sure the entire planet squeee'd at one moment in particular).

I also got caught up in that "We Are The World" feeling more than I expected to as well.

I'm so glad I got to see the Doctor Who special, it was brilliant, and I screamed like a little girl at some points.:-)

I think we all did.

God, we are polar opposites on Thor. But yeah, I'm not even a Doctor Who fan, but it was goood *g*

My concerns about Day of the Doctor were very similar to yours, although I did believe that since David had agreed to do it that it couldn't be utter dreck. And it was wonderful!

Did you see Night of the Doctor and/or Adventures in Space and Time?

I'd like to write a post about all of them, but I don't know if I'll actually get to it.

Still waiting to see the affiliated stuff. DVR let me down on the docudrama. It's weird---I have things I COULD say, but I'm far too busy procrastinating on Yuletide goes on at length.

I liked Day of the Doctor a lot more than expected too!!! (except for Clara XD ugh the let's all worship clara at the end was painful - I like clara when she's by herself but not clara plus 11 so I am hoping I'll like her and the new doctor more :D)

I also liked Thor 2 way better than Thor 1 which I thought was just meh too.

What's your thoughts on Arrow that you're right about?

I admit I thought of you last week and your House discussions regarding subtext as they bludgeoned us with Felicity and Oliver which I thought UGH DO NOT WANT... Ollie is fucked up in delicious ways that he probably needs to be single and/or fucking random people and unattached... (or you know with Shado and Slade because their OT3 is my fav of the whole show <3 )

I'm right about Arrow sucking donkey balls. Some people might enjoy individual aspects and clearly John enjoys the hell out of what he's doing, but objectively the thing is shite.

I'm over Clara, but I was never really that enamoured of Amy Pond either. In the end, I'm probably just a big Rose-stan, although not the Martha-hating variety. Martha rocks!

Thor 1 was just a plodding, cringe-worthy snoozefest. So yeah----#2, warm and charming and funny and genuinely lovable.
