Hot in the city...hot in the city tonight

Last night anyway. So hot that I couldn't even stay in my apartment after I got home and immediately went out to the Mint. Turned out to be nice, since my buddy Giovanni showed up and we spent some time hanging out together. Also talked to Sweet Jane, the bartender and met a fellow named Bradleigh Stockwell whose card calls him an "artist/kuntsler." He's a fellow UK-Telly buff as well as karaoke addict and we try to talk, although the volume in the bar made it virtually impossible. You try doing Barrowmania Squeeee over someone belting out Sweet Child O' Mine and see where it gets you.

I only did two songs, one of which was exactly one minute long, but definitely an "impact" number: The old Spiderman cartoon theme song.

It was still pretty hot when I got home and I wasn't able to get to sleep till after midnight, which means I was barely able to drag ass to work on time today. I'm very, very tempted to give in and do caffeine, but that's a bigger and more painful detox than I want to face anytime soon, so for the nonce, the Pepsi is a no-go.

Meanwhile, yet another cruise ship in the Bay today. Now they're just taunting me.
