Here's the challenge, each day for the next month, write a blog in letter form to the following people:

Day 25 — The person you know that is going through the worst of times
Dear Tony,
I don't know where you are. Presumably either Iraq or Afghanistan. I know in your own way you're managing to be happy there, because you're doing something you want to do, something that you believe in.
When people ask for my 9/11 story, it's intrinsically tied to you because we were both at the gym that morning, you were getting in shape for your attempt to get into the SFPD and I was doing what I do when I'm not doing the opposite. Neither of us had any idea what was really going on. We saw the pictures from NY, but didn't have the words to go with them. I remember you saying you were going to find out "who did this."
It took awhile, but you finally chose to go back into the military and now you're an MP. Kicking butt and taking names. Doing what you honestly believe is the best thing for our country. But you're there. In a war zone. Suffering. Assuming you're still alive.
I miss you. I want you back at the Mint. Drinking like a fish. Singing your heart out. Flirting with me. Displaying your well-known lack of physical and emotional boundaries.
I hope you make it home.
