Dear Katie, What's up with the beret?

And the necklaces?

TIDBITS FROM THE VACATION-

Friday night-
DEADWOOD-Season 3-DVD #1 FINALLY.
God, that show had some brilliant writing. AL/Bulloch OTP. Is anyone watching John From Cincinatti? I have no HBO, so I haven't seen it yet. Any good?

Yesterday, we had brunch at Chow and then went up to the Golden Gate Park for the free concert part of the Jug Band Festival. There were some good bands playing and hubby picked up tons of t-shirts and CDs. On the other hand there's a reason this was the FREE concert. Also, who the hell schedules an out-door event in San Francisco in August? Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Since the bandshell is right next to the DeYoung, we thought we'd go see some art, but Hubby was carrying his mandolin in a gig bag on his back and the security people wanted him to check it--because he might bump into the art--and hubby was like "NO WAY."

Upshot-NO ART!!!

I went to the Mint for a few hours. Hung out with Vince, Tony, Igor.
Sang Sunset Boulevard (AGAIN), This Ol' House (Shakin Stevens version) and Love's Gonna Live Here Again by Buck Owens.

Came home with Sushi for hubby and then we went to the Roxie to see "Chasin' Gus's Ghost" which is a really good documentary about -ta da-Jug Band Music. Lots of John Sebastian, Geoff Muldaur, David Grisman, Maria Muldaur. If you're into "roots" music, blues, R&B, and even the history of rock/pop music, I would definitely recommend.

We'll be heading out to the concert at the Great American Music hall shortly. Most of the above-mentioned and many others will be playing. I'm bringing my notebook because I did my 9ish mile run/walk/run today and it definitely helped kick loose some ideas on a fic that I'm trying to barrel through right now.

Hubby and I made a quick run downtown to Borders (the one in the San Francisco Centre) to get a book he wanted and of course the Hosue DVD's. We immediately ran through the extras, hence my concern about Katie Jacobs's boho look. I loved the bloopers, of course, especially the foosball stuff, although nothing was quite up there with "antipodean bum fluff." I need to watch about a hundred more times to make sure.
