So, this morning, I rode my bike to work. About 10-ish miles in 1 hour and 22 minutes. I did some crazy-ass, messenger-style, (as in stupid) riding on Market St. on the last leg, and worked up quite a sweat.
After I changed my clothes and went out for some tea, I came back and discovered that my case and the glasses that I never, ever, ever, ever take home, were not on the desk. Or anywhere on the floor. On in any drawers. NO WHERE.
Also, since I rode the bike to work, wearing my sunglasses (even though it was super gloomy) I didn't have my progressives with me either. I'd have trouble working in them on the up-close computer but it would be better than nothing. With nothing, I'm functionally blind as far as working on Sabre is concerned.
OK, fine. I had to go home and be vewwwwy quiet, because hubby works at night and sleeps during the day. Luckily it's not so crazy at work right now. I wasn't happy about abandoning co-worker, but with BART, I could probably go and get back in under 1/2 hour.
Went outside into POURING RAIN and jumped in a cab, only to realize that my house keys were back at the office. To get around the block and back to the office cost 6.25 in the cab and there's no way he could sit and wait on Montgomery St. Just not gonna happen.
Upstairs. Got keys. Back out. Went to BART. Got to 16th and Mission-walked to apartment in POURING RAIN. Tip-toed in, careful not to wake hubby. Keys were in my pocket-book. I have absolutely no memory of putting them there. NONE. NADA. As I've already mentioned, I NEVER TAKE MY READING GLASSES HOME!!!!
Back to 16th and Mission. Back to Montgomery St. Back to office. Still raining.
Now sitting at desk, with glasses, slightly damp, only two hours after I was supposed to start working.
And how is your day going?
