michelleann68, hllangel and Beta Goddess Carol. Mr. karaokegal was there in the flesh due to his broken arm. It was extremely difficult for him to resist stopping the DVR in order to skip the commercials. I advised him that doing so would result in another broken arm and he behaved himself admirably. Posting babble prior to seeing any other LJ postings regarding the show, so if my opinions duplicate your reviews, metas, critiques etc. It’s great minds thinking alike, not plagiarism.
I had a bit of trepidation, especially as a House/Wilson shipper. The end of last season just left them so…not in synch. It made me sad. Yes, my angst-fic loving/writing self was given fodder, but I fell in love with first season H/W who care about each other on some level—even House for Wilson and who we haven’t seen in awhile.
And the idea of a bunch of newbies just made me sick.

Opening…was that supposed to be an earthquake? Interesting variation on the fake-out opening. For a second, I thought the boyfriend was going to turn out to be PoTW.

Guitar hands aren’t quite as sexy as Piano hands, but I loved watching Hugh have so much fun.
Great House/Cuddy interaction. She seems to have gotten a lot of her spine back, relative to House. Lisa E. looked great, especially her legs when she was sitting on the desk and the “bazoom” dress, although maybe that was a bit much. Hey, I like looking at Lisa bazooms and apparently so does House. Or at least he likes mentioning them.
The one exception to LE looking great was her hair in the operating room scene. HIDEOUS.
Wilson/Cuddy---Still conspiring. I’m not sure how I feel about this. It’s very Meaning/Cane & Able and I would have thought we were past that.
House/Janitor-I guess it’s not the weird night janitor who wears his pants backwards, but he was very cool and deserves his own fandom and his own ship. (Marco’s with the night janitor, but maybe Nurse Brenda?)
House/Wilson-SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
OK, fine, we’re not ever going to deal with all the shit that went down last year. I don’t care. Not today anyway. It was House and Wilson. Hugh & Bobby. Having fun. Playing games. Making with the banter. Totally having Eye Sex.
Interesting points of dialogue: “You can’t even get arrested alone.” Well, he did, actually. Or is Wilson saying he was as much a prisoner
I think Hugh’s accent slipped just a bit when he said something “Patronize the cripple.”
House & Wilson home invasion….has the first smut been posted yet?
PoTW---Was there one? Oh yeah, another opportunity to bash birth control pills. What’s up with that? More anti-sex messages? Should PoTW get together with Margo from “Need To Know?” We didn’t get any pee or a dick reference this week, but there was a vagina. Mostly PoTW and boyfriend were there to allow House to prove that love is a hoax, a glittering string of little white lies…
Can anyone confirm that PoTW’s “mom” was played by Debralee Scott? Damn, she looked familiar.
Anti-depressants mentioned in a H/W scene. Clearly a shot at Wilson being on them, but are we meant to think House is as well, or not? Bueller? Anybody?
Reference to “you loved someone wasn’t miserable.” Miserable almost always refers to House himself. Am I reading entrails where they’re aren’t any.
OMG-The only way that girl doctor could have been more of a Camer-clone would be if they got Jen to play it herself.
I figured IT out about 15 minutes from the end. After House had the epiphany but before he proved it.
WHY WHY WHY have such great H/W with spunky, spiny, snarky Wilson the whole way and then let him wimp-out and go all whiney just because House kidnapped a patient. That really pissed me off. Also…why no scene of the “hostage” being returned. We never did find out where Wilson was keeping it. And so much for the “House in Wilson’s hotel room” meaning what we all hoped it might. By the way…Who the hell has TIVO in their freaking hotel room?
Major continuity SNAFU of the week with no doubt many more to come: Wilson implies that “the team” were the first team that House had. BUT---Chase clearly says in “All In” that there were fellows before him, and
michelleann68 and hllangel both pointed out that other episodes indicate they weren’t all hired at the same time. It’s picky little stuff like this that drives me nuts and makes me feel really obsessive. I’d say it was a good season starter-certainly leaving H/W in a better place than last year. Aside from that one issue, I never wanted to scream at the set and it gave me lots to smile about and watch overandoverandover.
The idea of a “voting people off the island” schtick to pick the new team is a little bit precious,especially with the American Idol connection, BUT I’m in a Happy House-frau mood right now and willing to give it a chance.
