"Stargazer" Doctor Who drabble Wilfred Mott Rating-G GEN!

Title: Stargazer
Fandom: Doctor Who
Character: Wilfred Mott
Rating: G
Wordcount: 100
Notes: Drabble-a-Day 2011. Day 273. Prompt from dw100. Challenge #368-Colour. Written for rustydog, who suggested Wilf and Terra Cotta. Unbeta'd. Comments and concrit welcome.
Summary: Wilf looks up.

It was in Palestine that Wilf started looking at the stars.

The war was over, but his country needed him to serve a little longer, this time in the Holy Land itself, where the constellations over the desert were brighter than anything he’d ever seen. His best friends were a reddish-brown hound, and an old telescope he’d found a store room.

At night, he’d sit in front of the barracks, Rusty at his feet, marveling at what he could see through the lens, wondering if there was anybody looking back. Eventually, he did find out.

It only took fifty years.
