"The Port of Amsterdam" Doctor Who drabble Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler

Title: The Port of Amsterdam
Fandom: Doctor Who
Characters: Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler
Rating: G
Wordcount: 100
Notes: Drabble-a-Day 2011. Day 281. Prompt from dw100. Challenge #368-Colour. Written for aeron_lanart, who suggested the Ninth Doctor and Orange. Unbeta'd. Comments and concrit welcome. Related to This Drabble.
Summary: Looking for Rembrandt; protecting Rose.

The Doctor thought it might be nice to give Amsterdam another try.

Rose said she’d never been there. She did hint that Shareen had worked there for a summer, but sounded reluctant to discuss exactly what kind of job her friend had. The Doctor intended to arrive in 1641, hoping to find Rembrandt working on his misunderstood masterpiece.

The TARDIS seemed to have other ideas.

Definitely not seventeenth century. There were sailors everywhere; drinking, dancing, cursing and making desperate advances to the ladies of the night. He stepped back inside shaking his head.

This was no place for Rose Tyler.
