GWEN HAS DUCK-LIPS! But you know what? I don't hate her. I sure don't hate Owen. Owen speaks for me. In a way that a certain other Rude Bastard Doctor character does sometimes. And hate!sexy, up-against-a-tree, with hot talk? OH YEAH, BABY! On the other hand...SHUT THE FUCK UP, IANTO. Just stop it. And stop whining again. I know what happens. I've seen the clips. I still don't believe it. Or want to believe it. Come on Jack, you can, have and will do better. At least I know what happens AFTER THAT, so NYAH!
The plot itself reminded me of the one and only X-files episode I think I ever saw all of, which just happened to be the creepiest, grossest thing in history, so much so that after the whole, cannibal, not alien reveal came, the next thing I thought was---so, are they brother and sister or something?
ALSO-Don't get out of the car, you idiot. (As we learned in Apocalypse Now, never get out of the fucking boat!)
And the scene at the end? I dug that too. Owen isn't all that sexy, but I think the whole Gwen/Owen hate!sex thing IS. (Although you can hurt yourself screwing those skinny boys, trust me.)
So here's the weird thing. My friend Ivan called afterwards to bitch about Gwen, 1-Not shooting the guy when she had the chance. Which we figured probably had something to do with her one shooting lesson involving Jack feeling her up and 2-BEING A SLUT! Ivan, the MARINE was rather incensed that Gwen was cheating on her nice, laundry-doing boyfriend and what made it even funnier was my HUSBAND, defending her, basically using her excuse that she can't talk to anyone about what she's doing and feels isolated. He also pointed out that the minute she joined Torchwood she entered into a group marriage with them and was already emotionally unfaithful to Rhys at that point, so the actual screwing around was just a formality.
Ivan was unconvinced.
Did anyone watch L&O-CI last week? Did you notice PoTW from Failure To Communicate in a major role? I can only watch CI without Vince D'Onfrio. He's a good actor, but I hate watching that character yell at people and I'm always rooting for people to stand up to him and it never happens. At least Chris Noth is more likely to just beat them up and he sometimes loses. Did you see that one with Whoopi Goldberg? Ooooohhhhh, scary. (I knew something was up the minute I saw that wig.)
