Summary: Justice has been served. What happens next?
“But that’s remarkable, Poirot! How on earth did you know she was lying?”
Poirot never tired of seeing that particular look of awe.
“It is simplicity itself, my dear Hastings. The murderess, she is like Scheherazade. Every night she must tell a tale to keep herself alive. But this story-teller, she could not keep her stories straight and she has ended up with only one possible ending; a trip to the gallows.”
“That makes you the Sheik of Araby, doesn’t it? Will you be creeping into my tent?”
“One can only hope, mon ami. One can only hope.”
