Summary: A light moment in a dark journey.
Esther hadn’t meant to start singing.
She had a terrible voice; once got herself thrown out of the church choir for throwing off the whole soprano section. Never mind that Miracle Day was turning into a nightmare, buildings were blowing up, and it looked like Friedkin was trying to frame her and Rex for lord knows what.
But she’d never been on a big road trip before and it was kind of exciting, even if she was scared out of her wits. Something about the highway ahead inspired her and soon Jack was singing along.
“This land is your land…”
