Rose had begged off, claiming exhaustion, and the TARDIS had lowered the lights, replacing Glenn Miller with a tinkling jazz piano.
He watched as their newest passenger formed an answer, barely bothering to conceal his thoughts.
“You’ll be leading, no matter what.”
The Doctor had to smile at that.
“Ever been to Scammoo?” he asked.
“The Land of a Thousand Dances? Not the Agency’s territory. You?”
“A long time ago.”
Jack took a step toward the Doctor.
“Will you teach me some?”
“Only if you’re lucky.”
