For Gene, sex had never been about thinking.
His weekly bit of fun with the Missus generally happened while he was half-asleep. No mental heavy lifting required. Just the way he liked it.
With Sam, it was nothing but questions, starting with who did what? Why did his DI’s mouth feel completely different to any woman’s he’d ever felt, making Gene wonder what kind of man he actually was. Why it had taken so long to find out. Did Sam really expect Gene to get on his knees? Turned out he did.
That was definitely going to take some thought.
