“You’d have loved her, Gwen. Such a brave girl.”
Gwen smiled indulgently. Rose had shown up as a volunteer, just when Gwen was despairing of ever getting Torchwood re-staffed. She fit right in, knowing almost as much about time travel and aliens as Jack had, perhaps too much. Gwen was getting a bit tired of hearing about the saintly Gwyneth.
On the other hand, Rose had chosen Torchwood, with the inevitable result. Gwen could hardly tell Rose to go home to a disapproving Doctor, especially if Rose saw Gwyneth in her. One difference though.
Gwen knew she was no saint.
