Summary: Jack deals with death in his own way. Gwen has something else in mind.
Gwen knew what Jack was thinking; what he wanted.
He was always like this when he lost a team member. Esther hadn’t been officially Torchwood, not that it made any difference to Jack. Esther was another death on his conscience, another loss, and therefore another reason to seek solace with Gwen. Making love to Jack had become a symbol of her own survival, another victory over Torchwood.
Esther’s sweetness and courage had touched the part of Gwen she thought she’d lost to Torchwood. She definitely needed to deal with her guilt and sorrow, but not that way.
Not this time.
