"Playing Make-Believe" Doctor Who drabble Jack/Doctor (unrequited) Rating-PG

Title: Playing Make-Believe
Fandom: Doctor Who (mentions of Torchwood)
Pairing: Jack/Doctor (unrequited)
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 100
Notes: Drabble-a-Day 2011. Day 339. Prompt from book_junkie07. Jack/Ten/Human-Ten/Doctor-Donna - Jack's "I can't tell you what I'm thinking right now." Unbeta'd. Comments and concrit welcome.
Summary: Jack takes a leap of faith.

He thought he’d really hit pay-dirt this time.

The Doctor. The other Doctor. The Doctor-Donna. Maybe they could see him as Jack Harkness, the guy who’d helped save the world. Again. Not as the freak, the impossible thing, or worst of all: wrong.

He couldn’t tell them what he was thinking because it was too wonderful to believe and for one second it seemed possible. And then it wasn’t. He could see it in the Doctor’s eyes.

He’d have to go back to Torchwood, where Gwen was still married and Ianto would still be available.

So close and yet so far.
