karaokegal 😲sick Home

I hate being "good."

I still have the vestiges of my cold, including the part where I bring up mucous with a lovely wet coughing sound, plus a little gagging. It stands to reason that aside from being gross, I am therefore also possibly contagious. Therefore hanging out with my friends at the Mint, hugging and sharing close proximity and possibly straining my vocal chords, might not be the best idea in the world. Except I was deprived of karaoke last week due to the whole dead grandfather/being good family member thing. So I'm especially pissy about this.

Sigh! I shall be "good" and keep my germs to myself. Luckily I have the week off, so hopefully some week night karaoke will be in order, although it's NOT THE SAME THING.

I do have to at least go out for a walk because it's gorgeous out and I'm going stir crazy. I'll try to avoid human contact as much as possible. At least this means I have NO EXCUSE for procrastinating on some fanfic writing. Not that having no excuse will actually stop me.

For those waiting with baited breath to hear the "Justified" verdict..

Having given hubby the usual, "just watch 15 minutes and if you hate it, we'll put on something else," we ended up whipping through the entire first disc (five episodes) in one night. First assessment is that we like the setting, as it's different than what one sees in a typical cop show and it's nice to see Timothy Olyphant playing a part where he doesn't have to have as big a stick up his arse as he seemed to on "Deadwood." (Absolutely loved the one with Alan Ruck as the run-away dentist, although I immediately called that the ceviche was a bad idea.)
