In my case, I would NOT be more or less ready to upload my 7000 plus word,
yuletide fic, which she very graciously beta-ed two drafts of in less than a week, making it incomparably better, in spite of only knowing the source material from mine and others fics.My fiction would be guilty of smut cliches, typos, clunky phrasing, repetition, and every other thing that drives me to
fanficrants in a state of High Dudgeon. As opposed to Low Dudgeon, no doubt. For instance:
1. "Don't you dare die on me. You here me! We're gonna help you," (sic)
2. From the same fic, the use of Flashback and End Flashback because apparently I'm too stupid to know a flashback when I see one.
But I digress.
I'm not much on Christmas/Channukah/Solstice/Kwanzaa etc. but I think we can all take a year-end moment to say something nice about those wonderful people who save us from ourselves on a daily basis and probably don't get enough credit.
