Rules: During the next five days, post three positive things about your day and ask three people to do the same so the positive attitude can gain some ground.
After training, I rode my bicycle to Sports Basement in the Presidio to pick my t-shirt bib (run number) for the Aloha Run 5-K on Saturday.
Three very positive things about this:
1. Gatorskin Tires
After Maui (and before) I was having a horrible run of flat tires. During my week off, I got these babies put on the bike and hopefully the days of coming down to get the bike and finding flat tires is over.
2. After a day of intense virtual training, it felt great to have oxygen, sun, exercise, and just a sense of being out and happy in the world. Now that my food and the great stress in my life are both dialled in (at least for now) I can really appreciate the need for the other stuff, including sleep-sleep is tremendous.
3. I rode home the long way, from the Presidio to the Marina to Fisherman's Wharf to the Embarcadero and then Market St. On the Embarcadero, I could see the Bay Bridge and the Bay Lights. Beautiful. I'd never seen them this way before, only from the inside of Market Bar while stuffing my face. They look even more amazing from outdoors on the back of a bike on a warm night. Keep em lit, indeed!
