My last two fake periods have been long and messy. I'm tired of going through super-tampons like they were tissue paper and having to wash my uniform trousers when I should be napping.
I know I can't actually shrink my fibroids, but I might as well see if giving them less artificial hormones at least keeps them from getting any bigger.
I'm fifty years old. I've been taking Ortho-Novum 7-7-7 more or less continuously since I was 16. I haven't had so much as a scare since I was a young, stupid 22 year old. My mother reports she hit menopause at 50, and my sibling had fertility issues when she went about conceiving.
I was just going to keep going until my current prescription ran out in October, but after consultation with Hubby, I've decided to just see what happens. I'm honestly not anticipating any major physical or emotional systems, and have no intention of futzing around with HRT. If I'm going "real foods" and trying to get as much artificial crap out of my system as possible, there's no point pumping in more stuff. Hopefully my exercise regime and the fact that I'm eating nutrient dense, non-inflammatory foods with help fend off a lot of the bone density loss and mood swings.
Obviously Hubby and I will take precautions until we know for a fact that none are needed.
The journey continues.
