Meme A Day 2008-Day 311 Non-Political Meme

Ganked from kimberweeme

1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS.
3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

Well, I think it's pleasant.

Election Babble

I Was Wrong!
You read that right people. I was a Hillary gal through the very bitter end of the primaries. I wasn't wrong for being a Hillary gal, because I'll always be Clinton gal through and through. But I honestly didn't get the Obama thing at all, and my husband was on the band-wagon long before I was, which I'll admit caused a bit of tension at Chez Karaokegal. I honestly thought that America would elect a white woman before a black man. Then I was terrified it would be a squeaker or that we wouldn't get the majorities is in the senate and in congress.
Rarely have I been so happy to be dead wrong about anything. Because I usually live to be right.

No chocolate for me today! (Three days in a row at the gym.)

California sucks.
Usually I'm far prouder to a Californian than an American, although I'm always proud to be a San Franciscan. Today, I'm not so happy with my state. Prop 8? Really? You really want to take away the right for two people to get married? WTF, California, WTF? (Especially when it's bolstered by a bunch of money from Utah.)
How jealous am I of the Obama kids?
Not only do they get to live in the White House, but they're getting a puppy? I want a puppy!
I love Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, but can we swipe some of that $150,000.000 the RNC was using to dress up Sarah Palin and get them some nice duds? Michelle's dress last night was not great and nobody looks good in that shade of yellow that Jill was in. And what was up with that music after Obama's acceptance speech. It sounded like the mother ship was about to land.
Things got super-punchy on MSNCB at around 11:00PM last night when David Gregory started talking about green states. Chris Matthews was super gushy and giddy and Rachel was, of course, beautiful, and sweet when she got a little teary. Can't WAIT to see Keith and Rachel's tonight. I was tempted to tune it Fixed Noise to see if O'Reilly's head was actually exploding, but resisted. Hopefully Keith will have clips.
Jesse Jackson in the crowd in Grant Park crying his eyes out. (Apparently his little "open-mike" moment has been forgotten and forgiven.) I also thought I saw the Reverend Wright out there, but maybe I'm delusional.
McCain-He finally found his soul in defeat. His concession speech was very classy, unlike the people in the crowd who were booing. I'm so sorry for him that he came to place where he felt he had the run that kind of a campaign. I'm sure him and Bob Dole can have a long talk about it. Liddy can cook up some pie since she won't be busy being a Senator anymore.

I wish my father could have lived to see this. He would have been on the same path as me, starting with Hillary, but he would have been amazed and happy to see what happened last night.
Please tell me I never have to see or hear the phrase "Joe the plumber" again as long as I live.
Halle-bloody-lu-jah, people. WE DID IT! Happy Days ARE Here Again!

Come on Minnesota. Get your shit together.
