I have a dream.....(To quote ABBA, rather than MLK)

Because I listened to the Mamma Mia soundtrack over and over when I was trying to sleep on the trip, and failing pretty dismally.

....a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream

Which means I actually got to sleep. Twelve long, beautiful hours of sleep. God that felt good! The only really problematic part of the trip was lack of sleep. I dreamed that I woke up to check email and there was an apology from someone who very much owes me one. No, it didn't happen, but I still have hope that this individual will someday see the light.

In the words of Sammy Cahn (as sung by Frank Sinatra)
It's very nice to go travelin'
And roam as gypsies will roam
It's very nice to go travelin'
But it's so much nicer to come home.

Not necessarily nicer, but damn I'm glad to be here, and that I have today off for MLK day. We're watching the MSNBC coverage of the pre-innauguration stuff. I still can't believe that by the time I go sleep tomorrow Barack Obama will be president.

Tomorrow it's back to the Desk of Doom and whatever hell broke loose in my absence.

Breaking News: (Kind of)

I'm watching the pre-innauguration stuff on MSNBC. Olbermann came on and said that they were doing a pre-taping with Oprah at the Kennedy Center and that Joe Biden told Oprah that Obama gave him the choice of VP or Secretary of State. Which apparently he wasn't supposed to let slip.

Discuss amongst yourselves.

ETA-OK, apparently it's JILL Biden who let the cat out of the bag.

Prompt #19

In my loneliness,
When you're gone and I'm all by myself, And I need your caress
I just think of you,
And the thought of you holding me near, Makes my loneliness soon disappear
