Yeah, there's a lot of shit going on, but I still get to live in the greatest city in the world.

We went to Chow for brunch and then to the Asian Art Museum for the Bhutan Exhibit. We had a lovely little docent named Olga who we had to cluster around to hear, but there were some amazing pieces. Only three pieces were from the Bhutan Museum. Everything else came from monastaries in Bhutan. Mostly Tankas and sculptures. Beautiful stuff, and very meaningful to hubby with his current interest in Buddhism. We also hung out for some monks doing a blessing of the objects in the exhibit itself.

Since the SF Public Library is just around the corner from the Asian Art Museum (in fact, the Asian Art Museum is built where the old library was) we went over there for an exhibit about the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Hubby's late brother James was a Sister and I had a hunch there'd be a pictures of James there. And I was right, which made hubby very happy. We even ran into Sister Lily White Posterior who knew James as Sister Sleaze Du Jour. There's going to be a bigger exhibit at the Yerba Buena Center, so I'm looking forward to that.

(Special thanks to jadesfires2808 for giving me the heads up about this exhibit. Yes, I needed an LJer in the UK to tell me about an exhibit here in SF. I love the Internet.)

Then we went downstairs to another exhibit about "career waitresses". Women in their 40's, 50's 60's etc, still waiting tables. The pictures were great, but also a strong reminder of why I wouldn't want to be a waitress. EVER.

Oh, by the way, it looks like the anthology I sold a piece of smut to many many moons ago, is actually being published and I might really got some money. 16.91 pounds to be exact. Well, that should make up for the pay cut.

Apparently, the editor is somewhat delusional:

Many thanks once again for submitting your work to me and being a part of
this historical project - Let's hope it outsells the Nancy Friday books!

Anyway, I'll let you guys know when this epic is actually available for sale.

Oh, why not?

Prompt #93

One thing isn't very clear my love,
Should the teacher stand so near my love?
Graduation's almost here my love,
Come on and teach me tonight.
