Another awesome LJ encounter

Had an awesome day with pinglederry.

I did a two-hour run/walk/run up to Golden Gate Park this morning. I changed my usual route. I just couldn't look at No Man's Land (Mission Bay) again.

We met her at Yank Sing at Rincon center at 1PM. She was there and since I hadn't thought to do something intelligent like make a reservation, she requested a table and had a pager thingie so they could let us know when it was ready which happened the fairly promptly.

Yang Sing is one of those places I've been hearing about since I got to San Francisco, but this was the first time I'd actually been there. It reminded me of China Town in NYC with the carts going by and you point at what you want. Instead of just counting the plates, they mark your menu with circles that correspond to various dishes.

The Dim Sum was amazing, and naturally my advice that we try to pace ourselves was futile. I probably ate too much, but not as much too much as I might have. Hubby begged off to go to Westfield Center and buy a Bose CD Deck.

pinglederry and I went to the old Post Office part of the Rincon Annex to see the "History of California" murals by Anton Refregier. I gotta say, Anton was no Diego Rivera.

Then we went down to the Ferry Building and stood watching the Bay for awhile, listening to a street performer play clarinet. At one point he played "My One and Only Love" for a couple standing next to us and they started dancing. It was beautiful.

After that we went to the Mint, although I had some quibbles with the instructions provided by her GPS.

The Mint was awesome, as always. She got to meet Peggy, Jim, Yanni, Steve, Sebastian, Rob, Angie, Camille, Jason (he wont Karaoke contest of the day) et al. She even got on stage twice-Poisoning Pigeons In The Park-Tom Lehrer and Sit on my Face-Monty Python.

I did She's a Lady, Rock DJ and Look of Love (Part 2).

Since Peggy was there, and I have next week off, we made a date for Tuesday so she can beat me up. i.e-Personal training.

So much fun. I can't even tell you. Around 6PM, I was shocked to actually be getting hungry and by 7PM, I was pretty wonky.

I said, Good night sweetheart well it's time to go, and had her drop me off at KFC so I could pick up food.

I love my F-list, I really do. Because thanks to the lovely pinglederry, I am the proud owner of a picture of John Barrowman (shirtless) that is autographed to "K-Gal."

Prompt #214

Since you've abandoned me
My whole life has crashed.
Won't you pick the pieces up
'Cause it feels just like I'm walking on broken glass.
