Whither the pajama tops?

Hubby sent me on a mission to buy pajamas as a Christmas present for Psycho-sis.

Yes...my loving spouse actually forced me to go among the madding crowd four days before Christmas. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT.

But here's the weird thing. Old Navy is promoting a pajama sale. I thought this would be a good place to buy pajamas. But they only had pajama bottoms. I thought that was odd, so I went to the Westfield Centre, braving even more crowds and went looking in Abercrombie & Fitch, Eddie Bauer and American Eagle Outfitters. Same thing. Pajama bottoms. No matching tops with the cute little pocket. What's up with that? Does nobody wear the whole pajama ensemble anymore?

They do actually sell the real deal at Victoria's Secret, but that's not the kind she wants...too froofy or something.

I also had to buy her a copy of The Joy of Cooking, which she requested, even though there is absolutely no evidence she will actually do any cooking when she gets back to her apartment.

I'm not feeling the holidays, people. Channuakah has passed mostly un-noticed and all Christmas really means is a few extra days off, my yuletide fic, and the next Dr. Who special.

Last night was the Christmas party at the Mint, where I felt especially un-festive, since I was bearing news of Sebastian's medical situation and felt like I was bringing people down. But how can we be having a Mint party without Sebastian. I did call him on my cell and we all sang "I Can't Smile Without You."

Holiday schedule looks like this:
December 24-See relatives-Grandma/Grandpa, Aunt/Uncle, Cousins. It's a birthday party for my Grandma, who is not doing well. Also a chance to see my relatives who I haven't seen in over a year, because this time last year, we were still in recovery phase from Motorcycle Accident #1.
One of my cousins will come and pick me up, because like hell am I taking the bus to Marin on Christmas Eve.

December 25-We'll go see Psycho-sis at the hospital and then we're going to ride Critical Mass.
Possibly also getting opening day tickets for Sherlock Holmes.

December 26-hllangel is coming over and we're going to see Beach Blanket Babylon, which I haven't seen in ages. I always cry at the end, and expect to again.

We finally started watching Due South. Did the pilot and the first episode. Hubby is definitely into it and I like it a lot. Thanks to all who've recced it to me over the last few years especially love_jackianto(Proving once again that people of different belief systems can bond over a quirky series with a cute dog/wolf.)

Prompt #339

Flies are in your pea soup, baby
they're waving at me
Anything you want is yours now,
only nothing's for free.
