Not much to say about the plot, which was seriously squicksome, but Mac Taylor is DA MAN this week for noting that Flack and Danny have been working together too long. They're not my OTP, but hear Mac joke about them could almost make it one. But his crowning moment was totally fucking with Sid. That seriously rocked. (I love Sid, but that was awesome.)
Numb3rs-Atomic #33
I had to put this one a shout out for a House-connection.
Michael O’Keefe who played the PoTW in Failure to Communicate, as the Reverend Joseph Ezra, looking a helluva lot better than Jill Eikenberry, not looking so good at all. It’s been a long time since LA LAW. Man that was some serious over-acting she had to do there. I felt really bad for her.
But I do love my wacky Larry/Amita/Alan comic relief stuff, although not so much when they have to be the Greek chorus to sort out religious freedom/faith vs science issues. OY!
By the way, Don does not earn points with me for Sullivan’s Travels. I think that movie is highly over-rated, much as I love Veronica Lake. I’d actually rather watch Heat.
Looks like Megan’s having another baby. Does this mean another trip to work as a torturer at Gitmo?
CSI-The Theory of Everything
OK, this was just an adorable episode. OMG, the Gil/Hodges slash-factor was through the roof. Everybody got to be snarky about something. Why is William Peterson back in the beard? I hate the beard. Other than that, it reminded me of the first two seasons, when I really loved the show, and this was the first series drama, before even House that brought me back to Network Television after a long period where I didn’t watch anything that wasn’t Discovery Channel (or TLC, or Science Channel or Animal Planet etc.) And speaking of Discovery Channel…RANDOM MYTHBUSTERS??? How cool was that?
Dr. Who-The Poison Sky
And we’re back for part two. I’m still not sure what the message was supposed to be, although I’m pretty sure it had something to do with the war in Iraq, and mothers being bad. Who cares, when there was an Empty Child reference and a direct Captain Jack mention?
Although on second thought (and third and forth) I’m almost sure the “Are you my mummy” line was an ad-lib. Because squeeeeeful as it was, it wasn’t really suitable to the moment in the script or how I think the Doctor would actually feel about what happened in the Empty Child. Sure everybody lived, but he was royally pissed at Jack about it at the time. (Need to write some Jack/Nine. NOW!)
But I do love that Jack is still on his mind, even if that wasn’t the most graceful way to sneak it in there.
My Donna!love grows weekly. She slapped him. She actually slapped him. YOU GO GIRL!
But the smart-ass kid still reminds me of Eddie Munster.
And even though she’s only up to Fires of Pompei, I’m back to being totally crazy about The Original Spy’s recaps at http://www.recapist.com (She also does Numb3rs.) How wonderful life is
Life On Mars-Series One.
Wow! I mean…holy shit. That last episode. I don’t actually have anything pithy to say, except that I’m now officially in love with John Simm. (Picked up a copy of 24 Hour Party People at Amoeba the other day.) I’ve written my first fic—coming (ahem) to
