So I finally got out of there at 8:30PM

And took a cab home be with a stop by the Mint to pick up the gym pass at Golds that Peggy left for me so I can work out on my vacation without having to go downtown every day and so I can have a training session with her.

Watched Countdown, which was the first I'd heard of this John Edwards having an affair thing.

John was always supposed to be "Bubba without the baggage."

Obviously I'm not going to get all Miss Morality about the affair itself, but this sounds pretty un-cool in terms of lying to everybody and then copping to your wife and she decides to lie too.
I guess John felt he could never get away with the Bill Clinton nod and a wink routine, because that takes brass balls and a wife who has an even bigger pair than you do. As Keith pointed out, thank god Edwards didn't get the nomination because we'd totally be looking at President McCain right now. Keith and Chris Cofidis (sp?) who worked on the Edwards campaign both looked like they were either going to cry or vomit.

Even though I'm generally a libertarian (and fairly libertine) about people's sex lives, for some reason I do get huffy about men cheating on wives with breast cancer, although I'm also unclear about the timeline of the cheating nad the recurrance.

Today I managed to sleep till about 8:00AM, got up and did some writing, mostly clean-up on what might be the fic I'll post on my birthday. We went downtown to meet kijikun and hllangel for brunch, leaving time to hit Virgin and pick up Batman Begins, which we haven't seen. I need to see than before I can see The Dark Knight, and I need to see The Dark Knight, so I can actually understand all the fandomsecrets about it, although I never though Heath was particularly sexy and I can't really imagine wanting to "Hit that like the fist of an angry god," in make-up and/or a nurse uniform.

We had an awesome brunch at Samovar, and then made the journey down to the ferry building. Hubby
took pictures of fruits and veggies while I stocked up. Aside from the other mishegas, the last time I had a week off, I stuffed my face big time, which I'd like to avoid.

The girls went off to be tourist and hubby and I went home. Hubby's newest musical acquistion in an Array Mbira a much larger version of the Mbira
shown and discussed in This post .

He played that and I put on my moose jammies and tried to nap. Not sure if I ever got to sleep.
Anyway, I'm up now, back to writing and officially, happily, ON VACATION!
