Meme a day 2008-Day 245-Controversy Meme

Ganked from docsaico

Would you do meth if it was legalized?

Nope. I know I'm an addict and I don't take any risks. I'm the one who'd rather be up sniffling and sneezing all night than chug a little Nyquil, so I'm hardly risking it all for something as incredibly addictive as meth.

Are you for or against abortion?
Absolutely, positively for it. 100%. Any time. Any trimester. On demand. Federally funded. Etc etc etc.

Would our country (United States) fall with a woman president?

I was a hard-core Hillary supporter until the (ahem) bitter end. I still think she'd be awesome. But it has to be the right woman, not just a generic pair of boobs.

Do you believe in the death penalty?

Nope. The weaselly answer would be to say that it's not evenly applied and therefore it's a fairness issue, but I don't see how it could ever be evenly applied in any society. I don't believe it's a deterrent and I'm not willing to have my elected officials kill anyone in my name.

Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?

Yes. And not just the medical stuff, although that needs to be done immediately. On drugs, I'm pure libertarian. People need to make their own choices, and the war on drugs is an abject failure.

Do you believe in God?

Only when I need him, her or it.
"Dear god, please get me out of it this time and I promise I'll never do it again and this time I really mean it. Amen!"

Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?

Ab-so-bloody-lute-ly. What is the fucking problem here. Although I'm somewhat intrigued by John Barrowman's argument that by buying into the concept of "marriage" gay people are giving into the definitions of the oppressive society and religions. At least I think that his reason for not supporting gay marriage over civil union. My feeling is that as long as anyone is trying to keep people from having same-sex marriage we need to fight for it. Then individuals have the choice which of societies rules they want to submit to.

Do you think it’s wrong that so many Hispanics are moving to the USA?

It's wrong that they have to because things are so bad in Mexico and the other countries in that region. It's wrong that our government is behaving like hypocritcal bastards about the situation. It's not wrong for people to try and get in and make a better life for themselves. Also, it's not really "hispanics." If you have to use a group phrase rather than identify by individual country, you should say "Latino."

A twelve year old girl has a baby...should she keep it?

I'd need some context. Assuming this happened in any kind of consensual situation and she wanted it, I wouldn't tell her not to. But I'd be pretty leery of the whole situation and unless there's a whole of money around, I don't think it's a great idea.

Should the alcohol age be lowered to 18?

Probably. I assume the kids are drinking anyway.

Assisted suicide is illegal...do you agree?

Well factually, there are states where it isn't. If you're talking the moral thing, I'm completely in favor. I've told hubby that if I'm every diagnosed with alzheimers or ALS, he NEEDS to kill me. I don't actually trust him to do it though.

Do you believe in spanking your children?

No. Another reason it's a good thing I'm not going to have kids. I could never give out physical punishment and what I'd do to them psychologically would probably be more damaging.

Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?

I could use the money and I'm not that attached to physical symbols.

A mother is declared innocent after murdering her 5 children in a temporary insanity case, do you agree?

I'd already think she was crazy for having them in the first place. I'd have to see all the details, but in a case like Paula Yates...I'd have no problem.

Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?

I'll probably get less wank for this than my on-going battle with the J/I shippers.
