"Gangster Rap" House MD Joey Arnello/Robert Chase PG 300 Words

Title: Gangster Rap
Fandom: House MD
Pairing: Joey Arnello/Robert Chase
Wordcount: 300
Rating: PG
Notes: Written for the ppth_support Drabble Challenge for Mob Rules. Joey Arnello is the Patient of the Week from that episode. Unbeta-ed, so let me know if it sucks.

Summary-One last fling before East Podunk

The blond with the accent; Joey liked him. A lot. Gentle hands, pretty eyes. Probably not interested, but you never knew. One last fling before East Podunk. It wasn’t gonna be any easier out there. He knew that much.

He thought of asking Bill to check up on Dr. Chase. Find out what he could be bought for. Nah. Bill was still trying to come to terms with what Joey had known since he was six. He’d already hit Chase once. God only knew what he’d do if he thought….especially if he was right.

Nothing to do but ask. Time was running out. He was being discharged in the morning and the flight left Newark at 3:00PM. The feds weren’t about to turn their backs while he took the cute doctor up to the hotel suite for a few hours, although they’d probably do it if it were a broad. Hypocritical bastards.

Bill had either gone for coffee or to the chapel to pray for his soul, now that he was worse than a murderer, and Chase was here to ask the same stupid questions. Joey took the opportunity to ask his own question. He said it, out loud and bluntly, because it was the only way he knew how, and at first he thought the kid’s smile meant the answer was no and he was going get reported for harassment. Hopefully that wasn’t a deal-breaker or something.

Only Chase wasn’t running anywhere, and there were no sirens going off. He did something to close the blinds and darken the room, and came back to Joey’s bed, with the look of someone who had nothing to lose, a look Joey had seen for years in the mirror every time he shaved.

“Never had a gangster before.”

“It’s your lucky day.”
