Yeah, I know it's November, but I swear to god it's sunny and in the 80's at least for the time being, which could end in about five seconds. I went out to do errands with my hoodie over a tank top and it was so hot I had to peel the hoodie. And if you know me and both my sun-phobia and cold-phobia, you know it had to be pretty damn hot for me to do that. Vacation week is off to a good start. I got out ON TIME last night, with absolutely nothing pending and no drama, which if you know my history with Friday before vacation is an absolute miracle. So today we have this gorgeous weather and it looks like we're going to meet Peggy for some sitting out in Dolores Park. I've started working on one of my yuletide fics and while I'm a little worried about characterization issues, I'm happy to have things under way. Big Prop 8 protests today, as well there should be, but I'm getting a little concerned about the tendency of people to buy into the "Blacks and Latinos voted against the gays" storyline that is still being pushed by a lot of the Right Wing Media in a divide and conquer strategy. SOME Blacks and SOME Latinos voted for Prop 8. And clearly a lot of other people who should have known better. I'm not even into hating on every Mormon in sight although obviously a shit-load of $$$$ poured into the state from the LDS. I know it's weird for me, Ms Vindictive Wench 2008, to be all Kumbaya about this, but I honestly don't think hatred is the way to go here.
