Hugh Laurie on SNL-Me at the Mint

I almost didn't watch Hugh on SNL because last time was SUCH a cringe-fest. This was marginally better. No fart jokes! The Brooklyn Chicks skit was adorable (although it verged into a American take on wink-wink, nudge nudge), just to see him crack up, but most of the sketches were pretty lame, and not terribly funny. I could have lived without the "miserable family" and the "Year-end letter" bits. And singing lamps? I mean, I like hearing Hugh sing, but still. Loved the medley, the Oliver joke, and the Wedding Toast sketch.

The glimpses of the bald spot were definitely alarming. I mean we KNOW it's there. I've alluded to it in RPS and fanfic, but it still comes as a shock to actually see it.

Update and the Blagojevich sketch were awesome.

Nice, quiet night at the Mint. A Sebastian, Donatello, Daniel, Daddy Dave, Brian, Jim. Lots of rain songs because it was raining. Luckily the deluge happened before I went home with the sushi. There was a small group of rowdies, but they were fun and manageable.

Song List-

Walkin In The Rain (Jay and the Americans version of Ronettes song.)
My Kind of Town (In honor of Gov. Blagojevich.)
Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again-The Fortunes
Just Walking In The Rain-Johnnie Ray (for Brian, the bartender)
Rock DJ-Robbie Williams
Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You (Yeah, it's the Four Season, but it's now an official John Barrowman song.)
