Yuletide support group post.
I'm having a pretty good
yuletide experience right now. All four of my fics have gotten some comments including very positive ones from the recipients. However, it's the fourth day since the archive went live and I haven't gotten a single rec. And you know what? It hurts. Not that I think all my fics are so great, but I worked hard on all of them and there's at least two that I think are outstanding.
I KNOW I'm not the only one who feels this way, but I also know it's not very PC to say so.
Last year I tried to have a support group where people could post anonymously about these feelings at
yuletide itself, but that's against the rules. This year we'll do it right here.
Not enough comments? No recs? No response from the recipient? Too many recs in the same fandom for fics other than yours? Other fics in the same fandom getting more comments. (Raises hand!)
Go anonymous, if you like and let it all hang out. I feel your pain and I'm sure others do too, it's just a hard thing to say in public when everyone's being so nicey-nice about everything.
