I am SO PROUD of this fic and the reaction it got. Just 300 words and I managed to completely undermine any interpretation of the scene in Adrift as anything special for Jack.
My response to seeing the Comic Con Torchwood panel, which inspired a need to subvert the scene that GDL was so very eager to remind John Barrowman, which apparently Mr. Barrowman had completely forgotten, so little did it mean to him. If I were going to show you the fic I wrote this year that sums up the so-called canon-slash pairing the best, it would be this one. Runner up for the most controversial thing I wrote in 2008.

My original challenge to myself was to write J/I schmoop. At this I failed. So the second challenge was to have Jack say “I love you,” and mean it. That I accomplished. The fact that I needed to have things go this dark to get there says something about me and a lot about how wretched the pairing truly is.
WARNINGS: DARK!FIC!!! This story contains torture, both physical and psychological involving sharp weapons and blood-shed, as well as potentially offensive views about sexuality. Special warning to J/I fans and Gwen-haters: Jack is fucked up and timing is still everything.
