Rachel was off last night with "something flu-ey" so hopefully she'll be ready for tonight. Whooooo-hoooooo!!!
Politics/Punditry has become my favorite fandom. I know there are people who think it's sick/sad/wrong to "fandomize" the government and those who report and pontificate about it.
But it makes me happy. Of course if Obama had lost the election, I might feel differently, but for the time being there's definitely that Happy Days Are Here Again vibe.
My other "happy" fandoms are Top Gear, QI, and Heroes. I know the "real" Heroes fandom is as shippy, wanky and full of b.s. as the ones that are making me miserable, but I'm at the fringes enough that none of that bothers me. I just look up when Nathan or Noah is doing something cool and that's good enough for me.
Still watching Bones and Numb3rs and letting them slide off, so there's not emotional investment.
The gut-wrenchers are House MD and DW/TW, making me miserable with what is happening or what is threatened to happen, and it keeps right on a hurtin' because I can't walk away from the brilliance that used to be House and the vestiges of the Jack side of the Barrowmania.
Meanwhile, in real life, some things are actually going to hell in a bucket.
Bff Jen got laid off yesterday after 15 years at Alliance Bernstein.
Psycho-sis is in the hospital with a broken hip.
I'm still hanging on by a thread at the Desk of Doom, although even in this economy I still have to wonder if it's worth it.
Thirty minutes treadmill yesterday-nothing today.
Not only am I eating too much sugar, I'm getting that dizzy, fuzzy-wuzzy back of the head low-blood sugar feeling way too much and still not doing anything about it.
hllangel and I will be having an Obama party tonight, so any gmailers who feel like hooking up for some chat tonight...look for my green dot.
The ice cream metaphor and last week's so called humor from Taub about "finding the treasure without a map." Does anyone actually find this shit interesting or amusing, because I'm on the verge of turning into a PC witch about it and getting seriously offended.
