He specifically loathed the sound of Gwen’s throaty chuckle combined with Jack’s incongruously high-pitched giggle. The Hub’s acoustics left him no place to hide from whatever was happening in Jack’s office.
Didn’t she have a husband to go home to?
Hours, it seemed they spent in there, almost always laughing, as Jack shared one story after another. Perhaps the only thing worse than the laughter was the quiet, when he could only assume Jack was telling her about the tragedies in his life.
The only stories Jack had ever bothered telling Ianto were lies.
