I'm cleaning out some old gmails from Sept. 2007. I was watching the first Series of Torchwood and falling in love with the show. None of the hate and pain and stalking had taken over yet. Good times. I'm exchanging emails and doing beta for some people who are barely "speaking" to me now. Sad.
This show is really started to deteriorate into pure soap opera, and aside from Silas, I'm not that interested in any of the characters, not Jack's gay angst or David's whatever angst it's supposed to be. So I'm basically on auto-pilot, only looking up when Ian MacShane is doing his thing. Which he does brilliantly. Other than that...zzzzzzzzzzzz. Unless and until David and Jack do end up getting it on.
So where was I? Oh yeah. ADRIAN FUCKING PASDAR. In a vest and open collar and stubble...drinking tequila. And I'm so so sorry to say this, but if he just pushed Claire onto a bed, I wouldn't have been the least surprised, or shocked, or unhappy to see it. Yeah, I've started shipping, and I've started reading fic, and Jesus god that man is hot. I'd do Jack Coleman in a heartbeat, but I would like to cordially invite Adrian to come over and fuck me into next Thursday at his leisure but preferably sooner rather than later.
Last week was Jack Coleman and EVERYBODY week, but this was totally Nathan/Claire. Kee-rist.
Invisible Man shout Out!!!!
Milo V. does not have the same effect on me, so I didn't see any Peter/Angela which is probably just as well. Angela Petrelli is an awesomely bamf, and I can't wait to meet her sister.
And so help me, by the end of this episode, I was even starting to see Sylar/Danko as a possibility.
What is it about this show? It's got way more Everyone/Everyone potential than TW on its best day.
Mostly back to being my nice comfortable "slide off my back" fandom.
Bones/Heroes connection-victims daughter is Micah's cousin.
Except for the whole "Cam is going to adopt the teenage girl" routine. Maybe I'm a little sensitive about conveniently orphaned children adoption plots because of the Cuddy situation on House. Also, Cam is all of a sudden mom material? After being portrayed as comfortable not being mom material. GRRRRRRRRR
And Angela's whole celibacy leading to incredibly inappropriate coming on? A little over the top. Cute, but not standing up to about two seconds of thought. Although when the intern's g.f. starting going on about Victorian doctor's giving "hysterical" women physical manipulation, I couldn't help thinking of topaz_eyes' Victorian House AU.
Do you think they're going to do a Angela/Sweets hook-up? I'm getting that vibe and I'm thinking I could actually get behind it.
I spent an hour running up and down hills around Dolores Park this morning.
I was in China. I think I was with my friend Tommy from when I lived in Fair Lawn. I wanted to do karaoke. We found a place that was in someone's living room with the videos on a tv set in the middle of the room. I couldn't find anything to sing. The book was full of songs I either didn't know or didn't think I could sing. So I kept looking through the book and everyone with me was getting really bored and cranky.
Finally I decided to sing "Bela Lugosi's Dead" by Bauhaus. Not that I actually knew the words, except for the chorus. The video was a man (Peter Murphy?) singing the song with snakes all over the floor around his feet and I think there were also sankes around me in the place I was singing.
If I don't get my lap-top back tomorrow, there will be hell to pay.
