Runs I'm still considering for the rest of this year.

I didn't even sign up for Bay to Breakers and considering both the heat yesterday and the general insanity of my life right now that's just as well. But I refuse to give up on my image of myself as a runner, even though training has sort of gone down the tube lately.

A Benefit for Law Enforcement

Since the Norway Day Race for Arctic Awareness doesn't seem to be happening this year, Ivan and I are probably going to do this instead.

Plate to Plate
Sunday August 30
This is the even I was actually training for when the first accident happened last year. It's a 5-K that raises money for Project Open Hand and you actually get to finish up by running across home plate at ATT Park.

Free tickets to that day’s 1:05 p.m. baseball game between the San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies will be given to the first 3,000 people who sign up for the event.

USA Half Marathon
Sunday, October 31
I really want to do a half marathon this year and I've missed the registration for Nike. I don't think I can get it together in time for the SF Marathon at the end of July.
The problem with the USA is that it includes the gnarly hill under the Golden Gate Bridge. Also---October 31---Halloween. I'm still hoping to be at the Mint that afternoon in costume, not to mention the fact that I'm also still planning on "officiating" over the Come as You're Not party. That could be a lot to do in one day. But if I don't do it, then that's pretty much the last shot at a half for 2009, and I'd have to wait until January for the Kaiser 1/2 Marathon. Which might not be a bad idea either.
