Ganked from jadesfire, who gave me the following words:
When the lights go down in the city....and the sun shines on the bay....
I still can't believe how lucky I am to live here and how flukey and flakey it is that I basically ended up here because of a joke about how I needed three more hours of sleep. I'm not always proud to be an American or even a Californian, but I am always proud to be a San Franciscan. I love this town. The climate, the hills, the neighborhoods, the food, the people, the politics. Come and visit. Any of you. I'll show you around and we'll do Karaoke together.
Music is my life. I think in lyrics and I have a constant sound track running in my head. Jazz, Big Band, 50's/60's/70's/80's pop, country and show tunes. I do the lyric prompts because those kind of things work brilliantly for me and I'm kind of shock when I give them to other people and they don't work as immediate triggers. To me any song, almost any song lyric can be a fic prompt.
Tramps like us, baby we were born to run.
Gotta keep moving. My genes are totally out to get me. I come from a long line of short, fat Jewish women with low blood sugar. My father also fought the fat his whole life and lost in the end. My grand-mother is no longer mobile at all. I'm not going to let it happen to me. At this point I walk a song/run a song/walk a song, and even the running isn't all that fast, but at least I'm moving. Even when I haven't been to the gym since hubby's most recent accident, I've at least gotten out once ever other week and tomorrow I have a 5-K. Keep on moving.
I'm not sure that's a good word for me because the things that I do are passions, obsession, bete noires, even more than hobby, which has a certain flight or temporary quality.
Even something like Torchwood, where my participation in the fandom is acutely painful right now, couldn't be so if it were a "hobby." If and when I totally walk away (and I don't know if it's going to happen) it would be more like an amputation without anasthesia than just "quitting a hobby."
Just cause they're unpopular doesn't mean they're wrong. :D
