So yesterday I had to go to Cliff's Hardware to buy a new Toilet Seat and I had the odd experience of being asked the following question: Round or Elongated. Considering how much time I spend on the item in question, I honestly had no idea. Luckily, I guess right. (Elongated FTW!)
5-K this morning. Ivan came and picked me up, which was nice. We got to the park way early---my fault because I got the time wrong, but it was. We hung out and met some fun people. It was very nice and laid back run, as you'd imagine for a run that was a fundraiser for "Law Enforcement Against Prohibition."
The route was a nice run down JFK Boulevard and around Stowe Lake in Golden Gate Park. Cool weather. Lots of PUUPPPPPPEEEES. I did it in just under 45 minutes. As long as I can still average a 15 minute mile between walking and running, I'm pretty happy. My Ipod shuffle let me down toward the end, as I got stuck walking with Casey Jones by the Grateful Dead (also very appropriate) but it went on a long time before the song changed and I could start sprinting for the finish line.
The T-shirt was totally awesome, and there was Double Rainbow Ice Cream.
Tomorrow I'm going to see Lowell at the Mint. I LOVE LOWELL. He lives back east with his b.f. Herman and I don't get to see him very much, but we always have fun together with 60's pop and obscure showtunes and I made a call to my friend Rich, who is a major Gay Male Crush of mine and who I absolutey adore, and Peggy, my girl-crush will be there too. It's going to be awesome and I am mucho pysched.
Come Monday, it'll be all right, Come Monday....
I'll have to start another sugar/caffeine detox and haul my ass back to the gym, in this case 24 Hour Fitness.
