After everything she’d been through and seen and done, Gwen Cooper still had the idealism that had brought her into the Hub with those pizzas, and Jack loved her for it.
Now that he felt himself burnt out and empty, he longed to find solace in her arms. In his search for redemption, he’d given up the chase, telling himself he was trying to live up to the Doctor’s standards.
Jack no longer cared about doing the right thing; he wanted Gwen more than ever, Rhys and baby be damned.
He could run, but he’d never forget.
