House-FCC IN DA HOUSE!!!!! "It's three years ago!" I understand that it might not last long for various reasons but having the team I love back together for any amount of time and for any reason is a cause for happy dancing. I'll bet Foreman will considerably less of a prick with Cam and Chase to keep him back down to earth. And even so-called new-and-improved House will be closer to his old self because he'll be with people he has a modicum of respect for, not to mention, you know, CHEMISTRY.
Numb3rs-Friendly Fire--HOLY SHIT! Who'd have thought that the show to go next closest to House in terms of calling out their subtexty slash couple would be THIS one! There was a whole lot of wink-wink nudge-nudge last season with the "talking about another man's meat" bit and a few others from Agent Curly Hair, who is clearly sitting in for the slash fangirls. I figured there'd be some major innuendo when the whole "date" scenario came up, but I honestly didn't think they'd go that far. I'm not saying it was like a big smooshy kiss or anything, but for this kind of show...that was a whole lot of slash fanservice going on.
On the other hand...the Don/Charlie/Larry emo fest has got to stop before I smack somebody.
I'm sure there was an actual plot in there somewhere too, but I'll be damned if I can tell you what it was or why I was supposed to give a shit.
Glee-The Rhodes Not Taken-I'm really having a hard time with this show. Am I actually supposed to like or sympathize with any of these characters? The only one who's particularly entertaining is Sue and even though she gets the great snark, she's clearly never going to be allowed to "win" so what fun is that? Am I really supposed to believe that Rachel's diva quitting and coming back routine would be permitted? (I know it's not realistic on any level, but that particular bit drove me bonkers.) Yeah, the singing and musical numbers are great, but I could watch those bits on Youtube and skip the soap opera. I'm seriously trying to figure out what my Hubby sees in this show.
Bones-Yay. Finally. A purely fun "Old school" episode, although the "beautiful music" touching the Amish who've never heard it thing, got a little old toward the end. I could have lived without the reappearance of Cam's "daughter," but seeing Booth in Bad-ass psuedo daddy mode was fun. Also...if we went through all the trouble to get the other intern's grant funded last week, why are we back to revolving interns, except because the black guy does embarrassment squick really well.
Heroes-Ink-Peter is a fucking idiot! I realize this is not new information, but it's been awhile (the daddy-hug?) since it was shown quite so blatantly. So far I'm not really warming up to any of the new characters...Gretchen annoys me, deaf girl bores me and forced me to spent half the episode convincing hubby it was not Marlee Matlin. Even an Irish accent isn't doing much to make me care about Irish Accent guy. On the other hand...Matt/Sylar...OH. MY. GOD! Snarky Sylar FTW. I totally get it now. I'm sorry I held out against the Sy-lust this long. As long as he fucking with Matt's head and getting off the good lines at this pace, I'm totally on board and ZQ can have me anytime. It's even making Matt a lot more appealing. Is Mohinder coming back, does anyone know? Because this could be one hell of triangle. And please guys, if you don't want me to see Noah/Claire, please have them stop manipulating each other like lovers? KTHXBAI
If you haven't watched or Tivo'd Ken Burns new series "The National Parks: America's Best Idea," you totally should. It's absolutely stunning. I swear it made me want to go out and hike Yosemite. Immediately.
