Yesterday we all slept in till about 10 and it took awhile after that to get moving, but eventually we headed up to Golden Gate Park, where we took beta_goddess to the Conservatory of Flowers, which is spectacular and also something that can be appreciated at a leisurely pace with lots of sitting down. Hubby and beta_goddess both had the cameras out and were taking lots of pictures. After that we walked out of the park to Haight Street and made an assault on Amoeba Records. Hubby took some stuff in for trade and got a bunch of Great Big Sea CDs. I was too fried to really focus on shopping, so we hung out in the DVD area and talked about British TV shows. (I explained that FortySomething is worth it for Nekkid Hugh, Hugh&Stephen, and Peter Capaldi and not much else.)
Then we marched down Haight to appreciate local color and find some lunch, which we did at the Pork Store. We were seated, served and finished in time to grab a cab and get downtown in time for the 4PM show of Capitalism: A Love Story at the Century theater on Market Street.
Oh, Michael Moore, how I love you! Lots of good info, a bit of manipulative propaganda, but nothing I didn't basically agree with anyway.
That was more or less the end of the "touring" part of the visit.
At the risk of angering the weather gods, I can only say that there has now been six consecutive days of absolutely spectacular weather. While this is the time of year when we tend to have it anyway, getting so much of it at one time is a gift.
So essentially I've spent a week absolutely bathing love and sunshine and happy squeeeeeeeee at the same time that certain individuals were describing me as a "hate-filled, rancid, delusional person." How awesome is that? *Waves at fans!* Maybe I'll dedicate a song to them at Karaoke today. Suggestions?
