l'had'lik neir shel Chanukah.
House watches Wilson light the menorah and can’t help thinking of Stacy decorating their artificial Christmas tree. Another meaningless ritual tolerated for the sake of domestic harmony.
There’s a certain satisfaction to what he’s achieved. Wilson no longer has the pretense of a life apart from House. His so-called friend has been exposed and the wives and girlfriends are long gone.
The second bedroom is only for public consumption. Tonight they’ll sleep together, and Wilson will still be there in the morning.
If he believed in god, he’d say his prayers have been answered.
Why does he feel so scared?
