I got on a scale this AM at the gym, which is against my religion as dictated by my "guru" Geneen Roth, but I wanted to get an idea of where I was. It's literally been years. Under the circumstances, it's not as bad as it could have been. I probably took a bit off this past month, since I'm at 30 days off the sugar.
The big, big obstacle is the night eating. I've written about this before. It's an inherited behavior. I don't know if it's genetic or just from seeing my father do it, but I honestly have no idea how to short-circuit it. Even if it's "only" fruit and protein, there's still a lot of calories going down the gullet with no brake while I'm semi-conscious.
My only counter-balance is to keep on moving. I'm about to sign up for my next 1/2 Marathon and I want to see if I can get into the next Nike 1/2 in October.
There is a possible daily project under consideration, but I'm not sure I want to commit as I might go on vacation and leave the laptop behind. Stay tuned.
