Why can't I write PWP like normal people?

I'm doing an RPS for my friend David and instead of just postulating that two people are going to have sex, I insist on writing a whole background for the relationship and incorporating details of the people lives going back many years AND dealing with the existence of their significant others.

And then instead of just throwing it out there, I'm going to need to have (at the very least) some Lite-Metal Beta applied, including Brit-checking.

What's wrong with me?
