Pairing: Rachel Maddow/Ana Marie Cox
Notes: I can't believe I made it! Icon prompt from hllangel. Thanks to beta_goddess for quick turnaround and hllangel for brainstorming and support.
Summary: Rachel really needs a cocktail moment.
“That was hot!”
Rachel glared at Kent, who’d come on set for the closing segment, with flushed skin and a light dotting of sweat on his upper lip.
It had been all she could do to get through the interview with Ana Marie without breaking into giggles or having her skin turn so red it would throw the color monitors into overdrive.
Only Ana Marie had that effect on her, even when discussing something as seemingly bone-dry as financial reform. Not a hint of tea-bagging, no mention of the Appalachian Trail, or even toaster ovens, and still the interview had made Rachel feel like a teenager at a very naughty slumber-party.
She was counting on the editing staff to make sure the viewing public (and Susan) didn’t see the wink that Ana Marie had given her after the sign-off, but she’d forgotten that the feed was still live in the control room.
“What the hell was going on back there?” she asked, a feeling of panic rising in her chest along with the blush that started at her neck, getting much worse at Kent’s smirking response.
“You do not want to know.”
Great. Everybody knew about her crush on Ana Marie.
Nobody had asked, but she’d still managed to tell.
